Default ported stock intake

i just got this ported stock upper and lower intake for 5.0 from this guy who says it was professionally ported a few years back before they had aftermarket intakes. The upper intake has been cut on the opposite end of the throttle body so that the porter could get inside there to take some material off and then it was rewelded back on. The lower intake has been professionally ported by somebody. He says i'll probably get about 20 horses out of it and also said he felt a difference when he first put it on. Should I stick with it or buy an aftermarket intake?

If the price is right but it, they ported stock intakes worked well when that was all you could get.

I would save your money, I had a big increase with my cobra over an extrude-honed intake

If it is under $100. Tmoss ports lower intakes for this much. The stock intake isn't worth much.

Most probably you wont be able to sell it later, if you are on a budget go get an EXPLORER intakeç(http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/614.shtml).

Flows close to the Cobra, uses the GT40 lower and they sell for around $200 complete.

Will need to get a 65mm TB to get the full potential out of it.

Yeah I know a few people that have picked up explorer intakes for free. Also get the explorer injectors. They have a finer mist pattern.

The Explorer injectors are NOT compatible with the Mustang EEC.

You said you already had it, so put it on and try it - all it'll cost is a $15 gasket set and I'm bettin you're gonna really be surprised.

giddy, well i heard otherwise, so i sold them.

The injectors dont even look like the regular Mustang ones and i beleive the connector is different.

Go to stangnet.com and pm 91conv.

He's the one that is running them. I've seen it with my own eyes so I know they're compatible.

if the connectors are different, perhaps all you have to do is get the plugs for them, then rewire them. however, if they're too tall or something, then I can see some problems.
