Default name that part on the distributer

ok sounds stupid. What is that part that you have to take off the distributer before you time it? also where do I get one and also will my 89gt interchange with my 91lx.

if I recall correctly theres a little plug under/on the side/near the distributor that you need to remove, it's just a jumper wire and removing it stops the computer from adjusting the timing, so you can read the actual distributor timing w/ a light.

It's called the spout connector. Follow the harness out of the front of the distributor and there'll be a 1/2 square plug. That's it.
And yes, the 89 should fit the 91. If not, make a trip to the Ford dealer.

the spout connector, all 86-93 dist. should be the same, i dont think you can buy just a spout connector, you would have to find one in a junk yard

ok will this effect my emission at all? i have a bad ass fox junkyard in my state so it wont be a problem finding one.

if you need something temporary, you can put in a two prong electrical connector, looks like a steak knife, i had to do that untill i found my spout connector laying on the ground...
