347 Stroker...which transmission?

I've heard a few different opinions from local shops on which trans I should run with my set up. I already know a regular T5 won't cut it. Those aren't rated to handle over 300 HP. What about a Bog Warner?

I also know I will need a T5 bellhousing. Is there anything else? What about the driveshaft?

Here's the link to the kit I just bought.
FordStrokers.com 331-347-393-408-418-427 stroker kits and ford parts. - Ford Stroker Kits :: Coast High Performance Rotating Assemblies :: 347 Stroker Rotating Kits :: 347 Street Fighter Rotating Stroker Kit
I then added the 28oz balance and the H- Beam rods, balancer and new fluwheel. The entire kit has been balanced, I can't wait to put it in.

Right now I'm runing the stock 4 SPD and stock rear. I know both have to go. What a winter project!

The trans needs to handle 500 - 550 WHP. (I'll be running a 100 shot)

Thanks for the help...

Tremec TKO if you want to stay with Manual will work fine.

I think you have 2 choices if you're going with a manual. Either a TKO600 or a G Force. You'll get a lot of votes for the TKO. Either will work, the TKO is big, beefy, and can handle that power but it's heavy. The G Force is lighter, has gear ratio options along with shifting options, and doesn't require any crossmember mods to allow it to go in. Either will work, it's a personal preference and a wallet preference too.

$1500 - $2000 YIKES!

I had no idea I needed something like that. Better start saving.

tranny

I just bought a ford 347 stroker with almost 550 at the crank and put a tremec tko 500. it's had no problems and will hold that kind of power pretty good. the next step up is a tko 600 or a t56 six speed. late model restoration sells the TKO's at a good proce if u buy a tranny, driveshaft, crossmember, and yoke from them. around 2,000. it a real good deal. i even put nos on top of that 550hp and made 630hp and the TKO 500 holds up fine.

i know a guy that has a twin turbo 86 with 700 rwhp. he worked for ford racing for 15 years i said theres no way you have a T5 in that right, you must be running a TKO. nope just a world class T5 with a steel bearing retainer, short throw, synthetic fluid, twin disk clutch and this car is his driver in the summer

I was thinking about doing that jsut for cost purposes right now. If I don't get on it that much, a world class t-5 should be ok......right???

do not put a world class t5. you'll be wasting ur money. spend the extra and put a TKO500 in it.

i don't think you will be wasting your time with a world class. if nothing else you can run that while you're saving for a TKO. you can easily swap the transmission out in an afternoon. like the guy told me that has the twin turbo 700 horse with a T5, he said you give two guys rebuilt world class T5's for two different 400 hp stangs, the first one, an 18 year old kid wrecks the tranny in 2 days. the other one to a 30 year old guy and it lasts him for 10 years. it's all about how you drive if you beat the living crap out of a TKO thats not going to hold up either no tranny is bulletproof
