Default 600 or 650 double pumper?

i have a built 306 and currently have a holley 750 on it witch is too big and swamps the motor right full of gas below 3 grand. would a 650 double pumper or 600 double pumper be a better choice?

The 600 would be better until you put major mods to it. And I like the mechanical secondaries over vacuum, that's just my personal preference.

define major mods...the motor is already fairly modded. are you talking about super chargers and turbos? cause the motor is gonna stay n/a but i'm looking into upgrading the heads, valves and rockers.

I'd go for the 600 with mechanical secondaries too. With mech. secondaires, you get crisper throttle response if you shove your foot to the floor from idle or light throttle.

I had a 600 on my 302 which had about the mods you mention, it seemed just right size to me.
