I've noticed that some companies that sell short blocks and long blocks have specific ones for twisted wedge? If you need specific pistons or something, why do the heads work with stock pistons, or dont they? And why wouldn't they work with stock pistons?

With a new shortblock you'll typically get pistons with much larger valve reliefs than stock to allow for much larger cams. Due to the rotated valve locations, TWs need different valve reliefs once you get into larger cams.

TWs will work fine with stock pistons with mild sized cams because the valves sit higher in the chamber than most other heads. They're the only 2.02 valve head that clears stock pistons with anything much past a stock cam.
