seems that i have come across something odd here
engine set up:
- roller 302/5.0
- 0 piston deck clearance
- .39 precision fel pro gaskets
- scorpion 1.6 rockers
- afr 20 degree 165 heads
- xe266hr cam with higher performance ford hydraulic roller lifters
* how i check for needed length -
- use a very light spring on valve that will not overcome lifter
- set adjustable pushrod when opposing valve is at full lift
- turn the engine around a few times
- Check for center and tightest pattern .060 or less pattern
- add .020 for lifter preload at end
My Concerns>>>>>>
i am getting a different ideal measurement between my intake and exhaust valve. my intake is 6.350 and exhaust 6.400. why am i seeing this? the intake lift on the cam is .011 less than the exhaust.
This doesnt seem right. both lobes should have the same diameter base circle im leaning towards going with the 6.350 all around for cost and rocker angle (pushrod is fairly close to rocker body at longer size - wouldnt want to send a pushrod through the valve cover.)
Thoughts? Concerns?
