Default what heads are on my car? 1988 Mustang GT

i just bought a 88 5.0 gt. i went and bought all the tune up stuff( coil, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires) well the plugs were not even close to being long enough. so i took them back. they were the right plugs for the 302 5.0 out of a 88 mustang. the closest thing we could find to match my plugs were cobra plugs. the model i pulled out of my car were discontinued. so how do i find out what kind of heads are on the car?

The brand name and part number of the 'old' plug is ???

Cobra (GT-40) heads will have a "GT" near the #1/#8 spark plug boss and three bars on the front and rear.

Those 764's are meant for 1993-1995 Cobra heads. If they're actual Cobra/GT40 heads, you should be able to pull a valve cover off and see "GT" cast into the head between the center valve spring recesses.

i know the plugs meant for the 88 5.0 mustang are so short they wont even tread into this head. i guess i lucked up and got cobra heads. i did not see the three lines or the gt stamp by the plugs. excuse my ignorance buy which plugs are #1 and #8, and are the 3 lines in a visable spot without pulling things apart?

The 3 grooves/lines should be visible from the front of the engine, they'd be on both ends of the heads. What is the angle to the plugs, angled like normal or almost straight? I mean in relation to the header tube.

Well they're not GT40 heads, for sure. Do you see any numbers at all on the heads anywhere?

E6SE heads use the same plugs as GT-40 heads.
