I have done this and it is easier than you think. The top is held on with tack strips bolted to the car which the cover is stapled to, yes stapled. The rear window is on one strip, rear quarters are on two others. Above the rear window is another tack strip that is stapled to and coverd with the plasic cover with chrome ends. The front section is glued on If I remember correctly, its been 6 years since I did it. Use good 3M spray adhesive glue. I had no experience with it before and it only took a day. Just be careful when disassembling and pay attention to how it goes together. It did take me a couple of tries on the rear quarters to get the wrinkles out and get it perfect, had to blot it on and off a couple of times and restaple to smooth it out. Any way there are some good books out if you are not that comfortable with it. This is a link to a guy who sells a really good one on the Mustang:
