Default 1986 Mustang 5.0 jerking from rear end

Alright here is the deal when I come out of a stop it'll raise up to about 2500 to 3000 rpm before it does a jerk and take off it feels likeit comes from the rearend but I'm pretty sure it's the AOD transmission. But, anyway what it's doing now is it'll go up to 2000 rpm to 2500 rpm then jerk and drop down to 1300 to 1500 . Basiclly does anyone know what is wrong with her. I'm taking her to the transmission shop where it was rebuilt but any input would be great.

Sounds like the tranny's slipping. Question is why, is it an old tranny in need of a rebuild, has it been damaged, is it low on fluid?
