Ok, here's the problem.... My throttle body seems to get stuck at low RPM. In a 35 MPH zone, it feels like I am on cruize control ! The idle gets stuck on about 2000 RPM and the car runs away from me.
I have tried cleaning the carbon build up off the throttle body but that hasn't fixed the problem. I have been told that parts of the butterfly on the throttle body can wear groves in it and then get stuck, especially around the 1500 RPM range coz that is the most common speed. Maybe I should try a heavier throttle return spring ??
My question is, Can the Throttle Body be rebuilt ??? Are there parts that wear out ?? I don't want to have to import a Throttle body from the US if I don't have to....
My other problem is, once I remove the Throttle body and the IAC, I wont have replacement gaskets... Can I use silastic/silicon liquid gasket instead ???
Thanks in advance
