Ok
Yesterday got the flomasters and pipe put in. Today got the new door pins and bushings in and the LH body to door moldings.

Couple of quick questions for you guys/gals

Driver's Door
1. Shuts too tight. Adjusted striker out and now shuts even with the quarter and the fender but its a lot of pressure on the door handle. Not sure if there is another adjustment.

2. I have replacement strikers taked off a 93' junker that we cut the roof off of (for a friends repair). When i unscrew the striker and pull it completely out will the bolt it is on fall into the body or is it welded on?

Passenger and Driver's Door

1. What do I need to take the seat belt mount off so that I can get the interior body panel loose enough to put the body moulding in?

2. I cannot for the life of me get the cotter pins in on the upper hinge pin. I am not so worried about the lower as they are installed from top to bottom but the uppers have to go in bottom up or you have to remove the door. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

Gregg

Also
how do i remove the door stopper? The little piece that holds it open (came in the kit). On the Pass side the metal piece it works against is there on the Driver's side that metal piece is mising....

Thanks Again!

First, you shouldn't have a problem with the strikers, they just unbolt and then go back in.
Not sure what you mean about pressure on the handle.
What mount do you mean about the seat belt, inside the interior panel that the retractor is in?
And sounds like that part needs replacing, probably have to fab something up or scrounge a salvage yard to find one.

It's hard to pull the handle up, to unlatch the door? You might need some up-or-down adjustment of the striker. It sounds like you've figured out the in-and-out adjustment.

Seatbelt requires a torx-bit socket - maybe like a T-55. You can get a cheap one at autozone. It should use the same torx-bit as the striker.

Last time I replaced a striker, I think I removed the interior panel enough to get my hand in there, and keep the nut from falling off.

There should be a little hole in the hinge-pin, for the cotter pin. Some pins use a C-clip.

Not sure which peice is the door-stopper. Is it fastened to the car via the striker?

The driver's door handle is loose until the top of the pull. The final pull is slightly tough...
I think that the in and out adjust ment helped. I am going to pull off the interior panela nd replace the strikers with the ones I have with the bushings on them and see if that helps.

The stopper is on the bottom hinge. It is the piece that holds the door half way open and keeps it from closing on its own...
It is a round white plastic piece that sits on a pin.

Thanks for the help. Sorry i am not as clear as I could be on some of this stuff....

oh also the cotter pins were supplied and should go through the holes in the hinge pins but the holes in the pins don't show hrough the top of the hinge enough to get them in. Someone told me to try a channel lock or c-clamp on the hinge while put the cotter pin in....
