Does A Ford Racing Z Cam Would Work Better Than A Smaller Cam

Hi I Seem That A Lot Of Modified Mustangs Have A "e" Cam On It, But When I Modified My I Choose The "z" Cam, Could This Affect My Car In A Bad Way, Because I Know My Car Can Handle The Lift Of The Cam, But I Haven See Cars Using "z" Cams, So Can You Tell Me What Could Be A Difference?
And Why Most Of The People Don't Choose It?

its a little big for a daily driver unless its and aggressive daily driver. haha no prob. but it will hurt you if the rest of your motor isnt up to it. ie stock intake, heads, and headers

1990 5.0 Mustang LX, SBF 357 (.030), Speed Pro Hyper Pistons (for now, 427 later ), Camshaft? well its changed again, Nicely Ported Pro Comp 210cc Heads, Edlebrock Super Victor Intake, Barry Grant 850 Demon Carb, MAC 1 3/4 Long Tubes, TKO 500, Spec Stage 3 Clutch, 3 row radiater , Black Magic Elec. Fan, 6 point roll cage , Custom throught floor sub-frame connectors, 5 lug conversion, Rear disk brake conversion, and some Mickey Thompson ET Streests. AKA YOUR BASIC DAILY DRIVER

Not, I Got The Trick Flow Upper & Lower Intake, +40 Pistons, Stock Heads But Fully Ported, I Have A Lot Of More Things On The Motor, But I Hope That Would Be Ok To The Cam.
Thanks For The Comment.

no prob. ya the z cam will work fine in that setup. do you know your compression ratio with the new pistons?

The Z cam is really aggressive, and it isn't street legal which is probably the main reason why it's the most widely used. As long as your engine can handle it, it'll be fine. I use a really aggressive cam myself, I know using too large of a cam can make the car into a dog if it's not matched to the rest of the engine. Sounds like you have a decent combo, should you ever upgrade to better heads then it'll really come alive.

now i running low on the budget, but i thinking to get the aluminium heads later on. i goin to take it to the track went it get ready and them i will know if is goin to work.
about the Z cam i think you are right, that could be one of the main reasons of why people choose smaller cam, because it won't pass smoke test with a cam like this big.

I believe the "Z" cam has a power range of like 2500-7000 rpm? First off, the stock rev limiter is 6250, basically cutting you off right when it's really trying to work. BTW, the stock rev limiter cuts fuel, not timing at 6250. Not the greatest thing. It also must be a dog around town. Do you have any low end torque at all? It seems you'd need to ride around at least 3K to get any performance. IMO, you went way too big for a street motor. No flame intended.
