Default parking brake light comes on?

what is going on....it seems like whenever i hit the brake (regular pedal brake) the parking light comes on. I have a stock brake et up so i dont think anything is tricking the computer. Any ideas

your brake fluid is low. I REALLY doubt low brake pads will do that but low break fluid will indefinately. Just like an oil light it allerts you when your too low

Sometimes the reason your brake fluid is low is because your pads are thin and the calipers are way out. Better check both.

well i put brake fluid in last night and the light has not come on so i think im straight thanks guys

a long time ago i had to replace the switch/sensor in the console for the parking brake. on my vert i wanted it to work properly so i could open/close the top. mine was all crusted up and the spring in it had died. thats just another thing to look at if it happens again. glad you got it fixed already though.

Now that you filled the brake fluid and the light went out the only question is????? Where did the brake fluid go???? Two possibilities.
#1 Maybe there is a leak somewhere???
#2 Your pads are getting thin!!!! Better check this soon before you get into a rotor.
