Default New coil for 1994 mustang gt

Which would be better? The MSD Coil, Ford TFI Replacement, High-Performance for $48.20(pn 8227) or the MSD Coil, Ford TFI, Street Fire for $37.07(pn 5527)? whats the difference?

go with the msd...better spark...also if you plan on adding a ignition box later...you won't have to worry bout buying another coil, you will have the msd already.

They're both MSD's, the difference is the Street Fire is basically a stock replacement coil, with similiar output as the stock Ford coil. The Blaster has different internals, making for higher output voltage. Things like higher turns ratio, higher primary voltage and lower resistance. But the Blaster is too "hot" for stock coil wires, you'll need high performance wires to use the Blaster.

motorcraft plugs and just about any quality aftermarket ones are made really well you probably wouldn't have to upgrade those. the wires will eventually melt if you don't get quality ones. get a set of 9mm performance oriented wires and you'll be fine.

msd makes fine stuff. i think crane makes the coils for ford. i have a ps model on mine and have had no problems. there's probably not a whole lot of difference between all of the name brand aftermarket coils when comparing like models. plus, you need a good set of hi-performance wires anyway. i did notice a slight increase in operating temp. post install of my ignition system. i attributed that to better combustion.
