OK I've been having a trans problem and am just thinking of buying a new one. I was thinking what Automatic trans i could get. i want something that works and can take some abuse. I'm also not sure about a stick. it seems that it would be a little more costly then something i can just pop in. but if i can be persuaded then i would think about it. I cant weld and dont know anyone that can.

Any advise would be great. Automatic or stick and their sub categories.

I know a stick would be better but i also know a well built AODE would do just as well as a stick. I would also like price ranges cause I'm not high on cash but i need it so I'm looking for a trans that is worth the cash. Bang for the buck.

bring your stock one to a race shop and have them build it the way you want it...and if ya low on cash you should get an OEM one

Bang for the buck? Redo the AODE you have, buy the internals yourself from someone like Performance Automatic, Dynamic Racing Transmissions, or even B&M or TCI. Master rebuild kits usually run around $300-$400. Then you just have someone put it in for you.

What do you recommend? Could i get like a direct link and why is it what you would go with. I'm thinking about doing it myself. I just have no clue where to look and what to look for. Thanks everyone.
