right on eagle i'll check it out...the next time i can...i have replaced all vacum lines and gaskets recently...also my car will like drive it's self...what i mean is that i can put it in second gear and it will cruise it's self...at 1500 rpm...i don't evan have to put my foot on gas...and it's a 5spd...my 88gt did the same thing...and i could neva figure it out...it's def. not takin away from performance at all...but it kinda drives me crazy...i have been trying to figure this one out for years...i did take my car to ford at one point...and all the said was your car is running perfectly normal...must have thought i was stupid...along w/ all the rest of us mustang guys...but if anyone else has had this problem be4 i would luv to know how you fixed this...thanx guys!
thank you...i will replace it this weekend...i did not wanna just throw money at something if it was not gonna work...i will let ya know on sun. or mon. if it works out!
I was told that this was a common thing with the 94-95 mustangs. mine does this also. I will be cruising up to a red light and my rpms will be around 1500 with the clutch pushed in and as soon as I completely stop they slowly drop to normal. I asked the guy at a local mustang speed shop here about it and he said it is normal, as long as they drop when you stop. I replaced my tps today because mine would coninually rev at 2000 rpms even when stopped. so far it seems to have fixed that problem, but even with the brand new tps it still slowly drops when I come to a stop.

I asked about that at a local performance shop after they adjusted my timing, reconnected a vacuum hose and replaced the idle control.
When I got my '94 GT 2 months ago, its idle was all over the place. Definately having problems. Now, it's exactly how you guys are describing it. Idles at 1500 while its coasting. They told me its normal for these cars because it was designed to keep the idle somewhat close to traveling speed so the transmission could engage easier.
I thought the synchros were for that, but the T5 probably needs some help. Everybody I know has this 1500 idle at coasting too with their 94s.
I know somebody with a '96 and I'm pretty sure his doesn't do that.
I'll have to ask him about that.
I had an 88gt that did the same thing...it's a 5.0 efi prob...that they all have...im going to replace the tps soon...and will let ya know if it works...my mustand did not do this till i replaced the upper and throttle body...plus like stated earlier i have cleaned the maf. and iac and replaced all vacuum lines...
