Default 1994 mustang 5.0 Transmission Swap?

I have a 1994 5.0 automatic and just purchased a used manual tranny but the bell housing says 3.8 on it. I called the part store thinking they might be able to tell me if the 5.0 and the 3.8 bell housing is the same and they said the part numbers are the same. But i figured you guys (the experts ) could tell me if this might work. Any info would be great.

Thanks
Richard

Sorry, I can't tell you about the bell housing, but what I can tell you is if the tranny came out of a v-6 it's not as strong as a v-8 tranny, they don't have the same torque rating. The gears inside the v-6 tranny are weaker than the v-8 gears.

I believe the bellhousing use the same bolt pattern but don't use the tranny if it was behind a V6. The T5 can be a little spindly and using one meant to go behind a V6 will only last so long before it breaks.
