Default Timing Chain and Tires on 1995 Mustang GT

I recently read that you should change your timing chain at 100k is that the same thing as the timing belt? and if not could the chain being old hold power back?

When I lay wheels they make no noise, why? How can I make them chirp or scream? I used to be able to with my old tires but my current ones never could and are over a year old?

the timing chain functions just like a timing belt, they stretch and change the cam position in which performance is lost....as far as the tires, some squeal and some do not,it is the compound that they are made of.i have Falkens and the do not squeal.

The timing chain and timing belts are very similiar, close enough to say the theory behind both are the same. Both stretch, both wear out and need replacing.
Like Paul said, some tires make noise and some doesn't. Then there's some that squeal like mad but leave no marks. It depends on the compound and construction.
