Default Supercharged Exhaust

Just by looking at this I can almost guarantee this is just like one of those tornado filter things where they promise things that don't happen, but I'm curious. What do you guys know about this?

eBay Motors: X-PIPE Mustang Cat-Back Exhaust GT Cobra V6 '94 - '04 (item 250264388171 end time Jul-07-08 21:49:22 PDT)

I was looking for some cat backs for my V6 and stumbled upon that. I love the concept, getting obnoxious sound, less weight, and a boatload better MPG, but that can't be real. Especially being a "Supercharger" and what i find even more funny is that I can't find a price for it on the website. (Not the ebay buy it now price, but the actual website pricing) And it's a flat 650 for every make and model. . .

Looks like a gimick to me. Anytime there is a novel's worth of description and testimonials like that they're overcompensating for actual performance. It's just some guy probably making/selling it out of his garage. No matter how something is worded anything after the headers on a car is only going to make so much power and efficiency on any engine by decreasing just the right amount of backpressure for a given application. I'd bet it is a scam-stay away from that one.

Whats that smell???? You guys smell that?????

Smells like a SCAM to me!

I love how he just has the advertising pic. No pictures of the "Real" thing. And how in the ebay description, it covers EVERYTHING to make sure it gets a hit when you type Mustang GT, Or Cobra, or V6.

Don't waste your money.

Mmm. No mufflers. That'll sound good on a sixer. Did you check out his math after the customer examples. "I used to get 12 m.p.g. with flows, now after installing this cheap pos, I get 19!". "That's a 50 percent increase!" Haha, nice.

The sound bite has a popping sound to it. I wonder if this is caused by residual unburned gasses in the exhaust.

I have an original Dr.Gas X pipe on my 5.0 powered 67 Mustang with headers and 2 chamber Flowmasters. The Dr.Gas X reduced the sound of the exhaust by a good amount and gave a smoother tone. There is no popping sound at any time that I rev the engine. I'm using a FRPP B303 cam that has overlap.

It has me wondering why this guy doesn't have any photos of his system or his product as would be installed on a car, too. What about pricing? Seems to me that he really doesn't want to list much about this. Each application is 650 bucks? That's a lot of money for a cat back in my opinion.

Does he expect you to run 4 separate pipes out the back? That looks like it would be a fitment nightmare on a car with a V designed engine and rear wheel drive.

I think I'd list this as being in the same league as those electric superchargers. Seems like E-Bay has gotten all of these "Snake Oil" vendors coming out of the woodwork.
