Default Explorer Intake clearance

Hey everyone, after reading the thread started by badasslx on the explorer intake that made me want to go and look for one. Well, I went to my local junkyard today and found a 97 mountaineer (great condition) and the guy at the yard said I could take the upper and lower intake for $150, I was very excited. My question is this. I have an SN95 (1994 GT) so I know I need the elbow intake adapter and will need to get rid of the strut tower brace, but will the explore intake fit under my stock hood because I know it is taller? Please say yes.

put play dough or clay on a few spots on your upper intake and let the hood down just under its own weight and see if the clay compresses.

That's a good idea, it'd be close with the stock hood.

Default noob question.......

Interesting question, what kind of gains can you see from this. it seems like a simple swap.
