Default Checking voltage for high/low fan motor

Today, I had to drive out of town and notice that it was running hotter than normal. so when i got home, I checked the weep hole, no water trail. opened the cap and water pump is circulating. Thermostat was open ( changed 1 wk ago to a 180dg). My question is there a way of checking if the fan is on low or high speed? it's coming on with the a/c other than that, I can't tell what speed its on.

i had this same problem, fan would only seem to work when ac is on. my problem was i burned up the wire for high power which i believe is the middle wire in the harness that connects to the fan. check with a light tester both speeds on the harness for current. if they are working then check where the fan mounts to the shaft of the motor and make sure its not stripped out causing it to barely spin hope this helps

I checked both speed on the fan and found them both working well. It looks like possibly the ccrm may be at fault. checking more into the unit, there's 2 relays for the fan. 1 high/1 low. Does the whole unit have to be replaced or can the relays be changed out?

well today it overheated again so I flushed the radiator out and notice there was no flow of water when the cap was off.also the top hose had no pressure while the thermostat was open. So while removing the pump, two of the bolts that run also thru the timing cover, snapped off. so now, I have to remove the cover and try to remove the 2 bolts. Fun, Fun, Fun huh,

I had that same problem with 2 of my bolts breaking off when I changed my water pump.
I didn't bother trying to get those out. Considering why the broke off is what made me handle it this way: Got a 5/16" thread tap and drill bit to match. Redrilled and threaded it. Guesstimated what length they were and replaced them with new ones. I think there's at least 6 different lengths of bolts on that. They're a 5/16 thread.
I wouldn't be surprised if you broke the same 2 that I broke.

well guys, I finished putuing it back together and checked for leaks. constantly kept checking it for air pockets and happy to conclude it was the pump. All I can say is the original one lasted for 13 years and now it started to go bad, thats quality built part.
