Default 2001 Mustang v6 V.S 1995 Mustang gt 5.0??

Ok i have a 95 gt 5.0 and i am having some problems. IT feels like it is loosing so much power. And wen i go to get on it it takes for ever to get into high rpm's. IT feels like it real slow. I just changed the intake gasekts. I dont know why its so slow. I heard the 5.0's were pretty quick? Then i havea budddy with a 2000 stang v6 and he took me for a ride and his seemed like it would kill me. Can anyone help me for wat i need to buy or change or fix thanks alot

You should clean your MAF Sensor. Was the car acting the same before you changed the Intake gasket. o and was it just the upper intake gasket? Did you connect the hoses back(the two under the upper intake)?

I would recommend some maintenance.
Something to also look at.

Do you have a K&N or stock filter? Clean/get a new one. Fuel filter.

try changing the spark plugs and wires. you may just not be getting enough spark and those are cheap easy fixes to try

Cars always seem faster when you're in the passenger seat. Plus, the v6s aren't slow by any means, they're just slower than our v8s.
Also you have to figure the age difference and realize that your engine might not be in top condition.
Unless you race him and he legitimately beats you then you might need to look at something with your car. But do some required maintenance to your car, and it should run good.
I know my car was starting to disappoint me performance wise, then I did a tune up (plugs, wires, etc.) and it woke it back up.

something must be wrong with either the timing or intake/exhaust issues, because a 94-95 gt should be able to accelerate rather quickly. does the car hesitate as well?

When you adjust your timing your suppost to turn the shaft of the distributor not the cap... And make sure you use a timing light!
