Default 1994 Mustang GT, When to get tune/chip?

Im running full exhaust ( bbk = length shorties, bbk o/r H, and flowmaster cat backs) along with a cai, At what point in my continued modifications should i get a tune? And should i do a mail order chip or find a shop in VA or NC that makes chips/tune? How much would this be at a shop? Thanks

The SCT is one of many good ways to go.

It's always a good time to get a tune!

I think the SCT 4 bank is around $350 plus install. Then you want to have it dyno tuned!

how does the sct work? Do you just send them your specs and they send you the chip with what you want on it? And what if i get more mods? can i send it back an get it re tuned? is the dyno required/how much for a run?

They remove your computer and slightly modify the port to take the chip.

The chassis dyno is important because it will allow them to tune the car while it's under power. They can change the tune as you add mods. A good speed shop in my area is $125 per hour. That might sound like a lot but it can actually be your best bang for the buck! A good tuner can pull another 20hp or more out of a relatively stock motor.

Ps. Usually takes a couple hours for a basic tune.
