Default header question on 1994 Mustang GT

HI guys, I want to install some aftermarket headers on my GT. I keep running across great deals on headers, but they're not for the 94 -95 era Mustang. Headers for these years can be from $130 - $220. But, I always say good deals on new and used headers for $60 - $120 but their for the 87-93 models. This is my 3rd Mustang ( I've owned an '88 and an '89 GT) I know just about any header made for a 5.0L will fit, but my issue is the egr tube on the 1994.

I see in some places where guys have capped the EGR valve when putting on headers that have no EGR tube. Others have just left it off. So my question is if I put on some headers with no egr tube and just leave it off, will this cause a vacuum problem? Will my computer give off codes? Will I have rough idle problems or any other problem I don't know about? Should I just cough up some bucks on headers made specifically for 94 - 95?

if you are in an area that has emission inspection

i would go with model specific.......

also if you if go with long tubes you will need the correct headers for the car

You're in Houston, you're still inspected so you'd be advised to get the right headers, meaning buy the 94-95 headers. It'll save you a headache at inspection time.

Any decent exhaust shop could take the older model headers and cut a hole in the header then weld the egr tube to it. Thats what my mechanic did.

Hi guys, thanks for your input. But my question was if I slapped on some 87-93 headers, and leave the egr valve open and egr tube off, will i have an vacuum problems, missing, idle problems as a result?

So will 79 - 93 5.0/302 long tube headers fit on a 94 - 95 5.0/302?
