Default 1995 Mustang GT, want to shorten throttle cable

im trying to shorten my throttle cable, any easy way to do or specific way? thanks

At the very end of the throttle cable there is a metal retainer clamped on it to keep it connected to the throttle body. Go to home depot and find a similar piece, clamp it onto the throttle cable an inch or so before the one that's on there and cut the excess off. Piece of cake

Why are you wanting to shorten it? Don't make it too short or you'll get kinks.

because i have a lot of slack and really need to push down on the pedal to move my car up hill. im not planning to super shorten it just a little bit
