Default Running with no MAF?

Ok so i'm about ready to start up my newly built motor, i'm running an F150 5.0 harness that has no provisions for a MAF sensor, the harness is plugged into a computer for a 1994 GT. Will the absence of the MAF sensor cause the motor not to run? Or can the motor run on the MAP sensor alone? If the motor can't run without the MAF sensor can i take the wires and connectors from a 1994 GT harness and run them right into the computer?

huh,
You are running a 94 gt computer and a harness from a what a truck?
I dont think it will work! The computer needs to figure out how much air the throttle body is pumping into the engine to mix the proper afr to the engine. Just get one from a junkyard the whole setup! Of course you could run a carb setup.

I have 1994 GT motor going into a 1995 F150. The truck had a straight six in it, but now has a wiring harness for a 5.0 truck. I tried the mustang harness but it just doesn't work in the truck, the motor harness for the mustang doesn't tie into the body harness for the truck.

The truck used maf on their V-8's that year 95 or was it speed density? You are running a 94 gt computer cabaza strategy?

It must have a mass air meter in the system. The truck had speed density and that harness will not work with a mass air computer. It may start and run but it won't be anywhere near being driveable.

Ask me why I ran "only" a 13.54.

most of the trucks that were 5.0's were SD, but if you run the 94 mustang computer in the truck with no maf sensor, you will have alot of idle problems, and your fuel/spark tables will be off, the KAM,Adaptive control memory wont know what to do, so you'll be in limp mode the all the time, and it wont idle, and when you get it going its stumble big time, there is a way around this but will require extensive tuning to reprogram the calibration, you might be able to find a wiring harness on Ebay that will have a wiring harness that will work for your truck/engine, or you can pick up a SD computer pretty cheap off of ebay
