Impressive, if its true. Unlike you I don't beleive everything I read on-online. SCT tune, adjustable fuel pressure regulator and intake spacer is a little of a stretch for bone stock. However the long block looks untouched. So if that combo put him in the 12's it is still rather impressive. It would have been more impressive if he had posted a time slip to back it up. Most veterans on this board would have done so. The fact that the stock computer can be tuned for better performance is common knowledge around here. Again I was speaking a bone stock car.
If your confidant that combo will put you in the 12's problem solved. GO FOR IT. Be sure to come back and let us know how that worked out for you.
I believe it. I ran a 15.6 (best) last time I went to the track with only headers and K&N. But I couldn't get ANY traction. I never thought suspension upgrades were THAT important until that friday. I probably could have gotten into 14.9 MAYBE or 15.1 (with my experience) with great traction.
But you have to consider, his is a Cobra with suspension mods hitting high 12's. Very believable to me...
With AFR heads, the right cam and intake, and suspension, and tune I can see 12's being very possible. BUT I am no veteran/pro at this so I could be wrong.

I'm with ya man i'm by no means a pro at this. I don't plan on doing the setup that guy has because I need the car for a DD I can't be runnin slicks and 4.10's everywhere. That's why I'm hoping with the right h/c/i with some suspension upgrades combined with my current 347 I can get into the 12's.
I don't think the guy was lying about his times, but who knows. I don't see what people have to gain by lying on a mustang forum. I think it is possible but yes a time slip would be nice.

Soon to come: TrickFlow High Port Heads, Ported Typhoon intake, possibly stanger007 chip, Headers
Well instead of buying the struts/shocks and springs I am going to upgrade the MAF and throttle body and maybe get the 3.73 gears too. The apartment complex I live in has a VERY steep incline coming into the parking garage and I think if I lower the thing over an inch i will scrape. So I'll just wait until I move out of the place to finish that up. So now my question is what size MAF and throttle Body should I get? And where would be a good place to get them?

Would it even be worth it to buy a new throttle body and maf?

if it where me i would call ron at fox lake racing he does killer port work i had him do my h/i/c stage 3tw.head.r intake, put that on your 347 and i think you could be closer to the 11 then you might think check flow chart on heads.i have stock bottom end (forged piston)the above induction 75.tb.80mm prom v1 10 4-10w/dr 4 speed stoct tunew/btm 1 pound per 1 degree
take your spare tire out ,jack, anyother thing you can that unbolts im taking seats out also when i go get a # on the car had all kind of elect. trouble just got car running really strong.with help from same people giving you advise so listen up they have good info .buy what exaust do yo have i have shortie would love long tube with dumps ove the winter havei have a few things planned main thing is a tweecer i suggest you invest in one i wish i got one from the start but heads or very exspensive and to go fast thats the key in my openion along with induction and exaust there is no short cut i looked for years im 40 and still learning every day from younger guys so keep a open mind help you go quicker if not faster
I would love to buy those heads and intake but I really don't have the money for it. I'm in college at the moment and money is a bit short. I mean I could maybe buy some new heads, but I'm almost possitive I'll stick with my intake and port it. My exhaust consists of the stock manifolds, o/r h pipe, and slp lm1's. I actually already have all of the weight out of the car. I currently only have the two front seats in it. No carpet, back seat, insulation. I do have the jack and tire still back there because I drive a good amount and I need it in there. I would love to see my car hit the 11's I just don't have the money for it so mid 12's are my main goal right now.

I'll shoot fox lake an email. I would like to get my intake ported and see if I can find a deal on heads somewhere. I still need to know which MAF and throttle body to go with though.

I hear you on the lowering springs... The very front of my drive way is REALLY steep and then just completely levels off at the top, instead of a steady incline all the way up.
If you get some cheap drag wheels and good drag radials that you can use just for when you go to the track that would be a big help.
Unless you're wanting to go with forced induction at some point (super/turbo) I wouldn't go any bigger than a 70mm TB and maybe a 75mm-80mm MAF calibrated for your injectors

They will definitely help out. They are a little pricey for a little bit of gain, but they are worth it.

yeah I will never be running forced induction. My dad and I have another project for a drag car I just want a mean street machine. Why would it be bad to go over a 70 mm throttle body?
