I installed an MSD 6al ignition control box in my Cobra. I have a spark, I know it's correctly in time. 10 degree timing advance.
I'm using the Blaster 3 coil, with the stock distributor.
I believe I'm not getting fuel. I intentionally tried to flood it to see if I smelled gas. Took the spark plug out, dry as a bone, but I faintly smelled gasoline on the plug. Thinking it may be just a residual smell. I have no idea what I've screwed up, but I'm at wits end with this car. Could I've thrown the computer off? Did I blow a fuse? Someone please help.
Also, I want to go carborated. Any comments about this?
Already verified everything to do with the MSD. It's getting spark, and I know it's in time. The damn thing just wont fire. I put the MSD distributor to give that a whirl. Nada.
sounds like the computers not reading spark so its not energizing the injectors go back over the wiring job you did and check the conections. Also are you sure the distributor was installed corectly timing wise? not a couple teeth or more off?

Dumb question but are all electrical connections are hooked up? I've seen this happen and the guy left the coil unhooked. He was looking so hard for something hidden he missed the first thing you come to.

Ask me why I ran "only" a 13.54.

Yes, that was one of my diagnostic steps. I pulled the spark plug out, set it on the intake manifold, turned the key and it arched away.
What jr.fullenwider said is hitting really close in the ball park of what I was thinking. I think I'm just about to slap a carborator on it anyway. This is a street/strip car and EFI just isn't my thing.
take coil wire off put 1/2'' from a ground then take its the white wire on 6-plus and touch to ground if no spark u have bad box but would bet its in wiring did you use msd adp.hook power wire from battery to coil helps prove coil is good check grounds over and over the best of mech. make basic mistake.good luck
If you ever want to see if your are getting fuel to the rails hook up a fuel gauge to the schraeder valve. So you can diagnose the problem. You can take a sharp object and gently stick it push down on the schraeder valve and see if fuel spurts out, keep rag handy and use common sense.
Also you pull any codes? Did the car run before the upgrade?

Yes, I drove it into the garage coming home from college and proceeded the upgrade. I have no doubt I'm getting fuel to the fuel rails. My worries is that I'm not getting fuel through the injectors into the cylinders.
It's alright, though. I got an Edelbrock performer 289 intake manifold and a 570CFM Holley carborator sitting beside it. I'm about to rip that EFI crap out and carb it.
I'd just feel alot better if I knew the car was running before I put the carb on... haha. It's a paradox, I swear.
