Default 1994 Mustang GT Supercharger questions

Hey everyone,

I've just finished putting a 347 stroker with the trickflow top end kit into my 94 GT. I also included 30 pound injectors, 75mm throttle body and mass air flow. The 347 kit was bought through summit and it included the keith black pistons which i gaped the rings with intentions of eventually supercharging the motor. My question is can the two bolt main and the stock frame handle a supercharger? I am going to break the motor in before i take it to a dyno but i expect horsepower ratings somewhere around 400-425. I know you can expect horsepower increases of 30-70% with a supercharger and i'm hesitant to add one to the motor without being certain it can handle it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah thats correct 6-9psi is fine for a stock motor. Was the motor built with a supercharger in mind? With a supercharger you will need to upgrade your fuel pump as well as run a larger injector. The key will be the tune especially on an sn95. Before you jump into a supercharger make sure that you find someone first that knows how to tune a combo like that. Everyone can't, and it could cost you in the long run.

I second being prepared in that you have a competent tuner to work with, once you have that you may love it the way it is. A supercharger on a 347 will need larger fule lines to flow that much fuel, and a large fuel pump.

while i have yet to purchase a larger fuel pump i do plan on buying one soon as i have a much larger throttle body and 30lb. injectors, i'm going to get the computer tuned for my current setup and tuned again for the supercharger application, my main concern was whether or not the block and frame could handle the power, thanks for replys guys, one more question though. Would it be better to have the car put on a dyno or send the computer off with a list of the cars specs? i'm having a hard time finding a shop that can do this, my spedo also needs to be recalibrated, anyone have advice on brand of supercharger?

I'd get some sub frame connectors and and control arms. the chassis will definatly handel it there are some sn95's with well over a thousand horses out and about and not fully tube chassis either. with the power your lokin for a cage sounds in order that will signifently streanthin your chassis. and as far as the block i wouldnt sweat it if you use a main girdle and some arp studs.

If the engine was built correctly to handle that much power you should be ok.
Are you wanting this to be a track only car? 500HP is A LOT of power. You'll definitely want to stiffen up the chassis with subframe connectors. You'll also want to upgrade your suspension if you haven't already. 500 HP with stock suspension will do nothing but smoke the tires for a 1/4 mile.
Also, why get it tuned twice? I say go ahead and slap that blower on THEN get it tuned. That will cost you a lot less money...
