what did the 1995 cobras have? my friends 95 cobra trans needs fluid and we need to know what kinda tranny he has. his mechanic says its not the gt trans its the cobra tranny. a tmec something??? what would be the best fuild for his 5 spd manual?

Do not put gear oil in a T5.
Automatic Trans Fluid, the red stuff, and just pump it in until it's completely full.
And the Cobra uses the T5, although I think it's upgraded a little.
Your mechanic is probably thinking of the 6 speed Cobra's that used the Tremec T-56. The '94-'98 Cobra's have the 5speed T-5.
