Default all you MAF experts. need help.

as soon as scooter at COMP CAMS sends my cam i will be starting my h/c/i/ swap. bought 24# injectors and matching maf off 94 cobra, factory stuff. my question is, would i be better off to get an aftermarket maf or will the factory one be ok? not a killer combo, just self ported factory heads, cobra u/l intake, 70mm tb,cold air, roller rockers and cam.

What size is the MAF? The only thing that is really going to make a difference is if the MAF is smaller than your throttle body. The MAF needs to be either the same size or bigger than the size of your TB. Otherwise your TB will be restricted by lack of airflow.

You won't need a chip for just an MAF. As long as the MAF is calibrated for the size injectors you have, it should be a bolt and go!
Example: If you have 24lbs injectors, you need to get an MAF calibrated for 24 pounders. If you have 19# injectors, you need an MAF for 19 pounders... No need for a chip.

I think your Cobra MAF will be adequete for your combo. You could always upgrade later on.

If I didn't give you the answer you wanted then obviously I didn't read yours right... I've been known to get ahead of myself sometimes too. It probably happens more that I know of.
