Default Carb Ignition System on 94. Will stock work?

so i've been looking at some options for the ignition system on my carbed 94. i've seen what looks like the stock system on other carbed 94/95s. has anyone done this or know what will or won't work? thanks for the help.

I personally have never been a big fan of high dollar ignition systems unless your pushing over 300+ HP and/or running forced induction or n2o.

What you'll need/want for your ignition is going to depend on how much power your pushing and if your running any kind of power adders.

So answer those two questions and we can go from there...

my motor is NA for now. i'm running a fully forged bottom end, aluminum heads, and about 10.5:1 compression. i'm wondering if my stock distributor will work without the pcm control? i figured i'd put at least use an msd cap, rotor, box, and a good set of plugs and wires. is a fully mechanical distributor needed?
