Thumbs up Cant find a "dummy" pulley for smog delete

Yesterday I lucked out and picked up a gently used set(less than 500mi) of black MAC underdrive pulleys for $20!
I was hoping to slap em in within the next week but I figured while im there (since im exempt from emissions) that I mine as well delete my smog pump.. The only problem is that I cant find a dummy pulley? and or bracket to do so? Anyone know where I could purchase one? or anything else I should get rid of while im there?

Thanks!

I thought about doing the same thing but I read another article that convinced me to just go through the trouble and put the dummy on ill look for the link and put it up here as soon as i find it or quote it

here we go this was taken from an older post I found by rj0886 a "senior member" of AFM>

"I have told this story several times on this forum but I think it bears repeating one more time.

If you do the smog pump delete, PLEASE....spend the $70 and get the dummy pulley that goes in place of the pump and do not just go with a shorter belt. I had a 1990 LX that I just got done dropping in a blown 347 stroker and spent over $7k on it. I went and did the delete and didn't think about the dummy pulley, I just said, hell, I'll just throw a shorter belt on it and call it good. Over the course of 2 years, I burnt up 5 alternators and finally, on the last one, it overheated to the point where it caught fire. I was on my way to work one morning and smoke and flames started billowing out from under the hood while I was driving. Long story short, the car burnt to the point where it was a total loss. It started at the alternator and was caused by the undue stress the alt. shaft was under because of the shorter belt.
I'm not saying this happens to everyone but I promise you, it happened to me and had I just spent another $70, I'd still be driving my baby.

There are going to be guys on here that will chime in and discount my post and ultimately your going to do what you want so I will only ask you 1 more question.......

What's your stang worth to you?

Goood luck in whatever decision you make, just remember my advice.

Richard is well known on this forum and he knows what he's talking about.

The only thing I have to say is, there are A LOT of people on here and other forums that have gone with the shorter belt with no problems, and then there are the people that went with the pulley. The choice is up to you.

Cars back in the day ran without any smog pumps just fine so why not our cars???

The pulley will work just fine and the shorter belt has worked for others, so it's all up to you my friend...
