The clutch saftey switch may be the problem if you have a standard. If you turn the key forward you should hear your fuel pump kick on....
Just think of your
stang as three areas to always check for.
Fuel, spark and Electrical.
In 2 years your fuel will sit and become spoiled, unless you kept some sort of stabilizer in it. I take it that it is cranking over.
Pull a plug out and leave the wire on it and have some one try to crank it over, if you see a spark thats a good sign, check them all this way your Distributor may have a bad rotar but thats no biggie you can pick one up for 5-15$. And the Timing may be off. By either to much or to little, i believe you want to keep it between 8-12 degrees.
I would try the timing first if it was cranking fast before you have to much timing, if it was cranking like it was a slug moving, you have to little...just losen the locking bolt a bit and turn it left or right.
