Default 1995 GT will not turn over

The battery is good, but the starter is acting like it is not getting power. I assumed it was the the starter solenoid so I bought a new starter/starter solenoid. This did not fix the problem. I've read that there is an additional solenoid in the fendor, but I do not know where it is?? Does any one have any tips or articles that they think would help me with my problem?

I haven't driven the car in a while.....about 2 years (I have started it on occasion). The car would have these same symptoms before, but I could get it to start by jumping it. Also, if I would just keep turning the key, on about the 100th attempt I've gotten it to start.

Again, the battery is brand new.

Thanks!

I would check the ignition switch or if a 5 speed, the clutch safety switch.

The clutch saftey switch may be the problem if you have a standard. If you turn the key forward you should hear your fuel pump kick on....
Just think of your stang as three areas to always check for.
Fuel, spark and Electrical.
In 2 years your fuel will sit and become spoiled, unless you kept some sort of stabilizer in it. I take it that it is cranking over.
Pull a plug out and leave the wire on it and have some one try to crank it over, if you see a spark thats a good sign, check them all this way your Distributor may have a bad rotar but thats no biggie you can pick one up for 5-15$. And the Timing may be off. By either to much or to little, i believe you want to keep it between 8-12 degrees.

I would try the timing first if it was cranking fast before you have to much timing, if it was cranking like it was a slug moving, you have to little...just losen the locking bolt a bit and turn it left or right.

The engine is not cranking over. The fuel pump comes on and it sounds like a relay clicks when I turn the key. However the starter never makes a noise nor attempts to turn the motor.

I'm sure the fuel is bad, the last time I started it was 6 months ago. The fuel is probably 2 years old. But anyrate, I can't get the engine to crank so fuel isn't the problem (at least for now).

Did you check the cable to the starter? it may not be fastend or connected correctly. i would double check that. Make sure that you follow it to the batt. source.

Sounds like you need a new starter...I have had many go bad on different cars and they all have the same symptoms, yours. Especially the clicking noise...usually means starter or sol. and you fixed the sol so...

If not, check your negative batt cable,(if you have no power that is) I've had to replace that in my 95 gt before. Easy, just get under the car and follow wire.
