Ok, heres the problem..about a year ago i got my car and it needed a new clutch. I was planning on getting a King Cobra but instead since my dad owns a garage, my aunt got a clutch kit from Sachs. She couldnt send it back so i decided to put it in. Had no problems istalling untill the pilot bearing had to be sunk. My dad wasnt sure how far to sink it..so he sunk the whole thing. My car ran fine for about a month until i got this dam chirp from the throw out bearing. I lubed the hell out of it and it quieted down..but then started again. So i sent the kit back defective and got another for free. Installed that...same thing happend as soon as i started it. It chirps while clutch is out in nuetral, 5th gear in low rpms, and in low rpms between shifts. I cant stand It ANY MORE Its really pissing me off. Any ideas what is wrong? I dint replace the pilot bearing the second time..could it be that? Or am i gonna have to make sachs like my SACK.
PLEASE HELP!
I have seen many premature TO Beraing failures. Could be a defective TO but most likely you have a problem elsewhere, could be the fork, bearing retainer or bad bellhousing alignment.
I had this problem once, and got a new fork and that seemed to fix the premature faiulure.
Also make sure the clutch cable is not too tight, there has to be at least a 1/2" play in the pedal.
