| A jerking feeling is usually associated with the clutch on the A/C compressor coming on. Newer cars have nice new clutchs that are smoother. Our 94/95's have a few years and miles on them and will tend to not be as smooth when flipping on the switch. If you get a new clutch for the front of your compressor, then the on/off transition should once again become smooth.
Oh, also if your A/C system gets a little low on R134a, then the system should sense this and shut off temporarily and then back on. You might be able to throw a can of freon back in and have things smooth out too!
