Do any of you guys with the kit installed know if it raised the speed at which the trans shifts on light throttle? For example when shifting from 1st to 2nd when pulling away from a light slowly!
Not mine. My tranny still shifts at the same speeds; just more firmly than stock.

is this something I can put in? does it require dropping the pan?
tow years now since i installed my B&M, the kit will include 2 stages, stage 1 is steet strip and 2 for heavy duty.
i did not waste my time, i installed the 2 stages and am very happy, with wide open throttle you will never feel of the car changing the gear rather than looking to the RPM and sound of the engine.(very very fast shifting)
i strongly recommend B&M kit and its around $38, it has every thing springs valve body...etc
i cant see why its uncomfortable, and your trans life will extend.
yes it needs a professional mechanic, and reading the instruction carefully, its like maximum 4 hour job for first time mechanic, and yes you have to drop the pan and other things.

Shift points are unchanged. Shift is commanded by the PCM based an throttle % open and vehicle speed. So unless you have a tuning device the shift point are the same. That, however, doesn`t mean that you won`t feel the change. At about a 1/4 throttle the shift will be fast enough to chirp the tires on the 1 - 2 up shift.
I thought the Transgo kit came with a installation tape. Step by step.
I would just tackle it my self. $400 is a lot of coin. Takes a few days to pay that off.
