I have heard that Transgo makes a great Auto shift Kit, are the expensive, will they decrease my 1/4 times and what not? It says on the site I can install it in 10 min, is that true? also they have 2 or 3 different kits, which is the best? is there a better company that makes these?
Don't waste your money, on a shift kit by any of them. If you want your tranny to shift better, swap out your valve body it will last longer. And to be honest, yeah it's more expensive but it will shift much better. It will shorten your 1/4 mile time also, a set of 4.10 gears would drop it even more. Both combined with a good set of sticky tires, could drop your 1/4 mile time by 4 - 5 tenths along with a good tune, Mike. SCT Tuner.

If someone is telling you that you can install the new springs, valves and balls into the valve body of an AODE in 10 minutes. Slap him with an old length of muffler moly. He's lying to you.

I have a Baumann valve body reprogramming kit in mine and I love it! I took my time and did it over 2 days. The reprogramming kit allows you to calibrate each shift point's firmness and not RPM range. I have a pretty much stock engine and have barked it once or twice. Also, I didn't calibrate it to the firmest shifts, so you can always go back and increase the firmness.
I've had the transgo hd2 in about 2 months now and love it. I had a busted spring in mine and now it shifts so smoooooooooooooth compared to the jerking i would get between 1st and 2nd. I had someone else install but i would definitly go with the transgo!!
Do any of you guys with the kit installed know if it raised the speed at which the trans shifts on light throttle? For example when shifting from 1st to 2nd when pulling away from a light slowly!
