Question Quesiton for Modified SN95 Owners

I just installed the Trick Flow Street kit on my '94, including their cam, 24lb injectors, 255lb FP, matched MAF, larger TB, removal of all the polution control junk, etc... We can get the car running as long as you feather the gas pedal. But it is not running right, almost like the timing is way off. Also without giving it any additional gas it will rev up between 4200-4800 and back to 1000. We are 99% positive the distributor is in correct (Although maybe a tooth off, but not 180)

Any ideas, thoughts, or suggestions?

I know the SN95 computers hate mods, so is it possible the computer is just fighting the mods?

I was planning on getting it dyno tuned anyway, so I may just trailer it to a shop and let them figure it out...but I am sure that will cost a pretty penny.

most likely the computer is acting true to its nature of not playing well with mods...

Great thanks...that is what we were leaning towards. On another board someone stated the SN95's really do not play well with the TF Stage 1 cam.

Your 1994 computer tends to argue with that cam so you heard right about it.

Check the ignition timing before doing anything else. Being one tooth off can make a big difference.
The SN95 computer can adapt very well to head/intake mods as long as the injectors can deliver enough fuel and the MAF sensor is calibrated for them. It's cam changes that cause trouble especially if the valve opening/closing events deviate far from stock (the PIP sensor is calibrated for the stock cam), and that's when you really need a chip tune.

After six hours of trouble shooting and trying everything we could think of, I had her towed to a local speed shop. I am going to let them figure out the gremlins and get it dyno tuned at the same time. Hopefully I will get her back by next weekend.
