Default Explorer/gt40 intake fit with stock 95' hood?

I realize the strut tower brace will not fit, but is there any issue with stock hood?

Nope, you'll be just fine with the stock hood.

What about a replacement strut tower brace? I've heard that Ford Racing and edelbrock both make braces taht will fit with stock hood and with the explorer/gt40 intake...

Steeda, BBK, and Edelbrock all make aftermarket strut tower braces that fit around aftermarket intakes.

My Edelbrock Performer just about clears the stock hood at the front edge, but there's no room for the strut tower brace so I left it off.
