1995 Mustang GT, Will a cobra computer work in my car?
I have a '95 Mustang GT that looks like it's going to need a computer (one more test). Since I'm going to have to buy a new computer, would it be advantageous to buy a Cobra computer? I know I'll have to run the 24 pound injectors, but what about the MAF itself? DO I use a stock MAF, and the computer knows it has 24 pound injectors, or is the MAF sensor calibrateed for 24#?
Is the programming any better or worse for performance mods?
Wow, Let me know how this works out. on my Honda with the stock DX motor i Ran the SI ECU and it thought my engine had V-Tec and Automaticly dumped more fuel into the motor and raised my rev limiter from 6800 to 7800 and motor never blew lol.
so seems to be same case in gt and cobra? i dont know if it works ill do it to!

It will work, but it won't help performance.
The only difference I know of between the GT computer and the Cobra computer is the Cobra is tuned to run 24# injectors.
The Cobra also uses the same MAF as the GT. It's the computer that is tuned for the 24 pounders.
Don't expect any power gains, because that won't happen in this case...

And, it's not less picky about mods either? Damn, I thought they would do more...something that would justify a whole new computer....
Nope, I believe they are just as picky as the GT computers. I could be wrong though, because the Cobra uses a slightly better cam than the GT. So I'm not 100% sure.
The only positive to getting the Cobra computer is that you can run 24# injectors without changing the MAF.

Are you refering to the '93 Cobra computer? If so, then the FOX computers handle modifications much better than the SN95's.
So I guess it depends on which one you're talking about.

No, I meant the computer for a '95 Cobra. I'm kinda leaning away from a Fox computer swap, once I found out I would have to add a switch for the fan, and other things.
'95 GT computer it is then....
Would a federal car computer be better than a California emissions computer?
