Buy yourself a Chilton or Hayes repair manual at Autozone, Pepboys or whatever parts shop that you have in your town. There are wiring diagrams in both, I own both as they are a little different to use.

Tough problem though, check your wiring and make sure you are not grounding out somewhere.

The wire coming from the sending unit to the gauge must be grounding out somewhere.
