why would he take the MAF sensor!? what kind of PCM are you using to not have a MAF sensor and not throw CELs all day?

This is a video showing how to install a CAI... they point out the MAF sensor during the instal

Just re-watched the video myself... it's about 4 minutes in where they point out the MAF

It's it's not there!!!dude that can't be the car wouldn't be running at all with out it unless the dude converted to speed density for some ungodly retarded reason(people convert speed density to maf but its stupid to revert back to speed density). The stock intake comes apart in three different sections. The maf sensor is a 70mm sensor located in the middle section. You have to crack open that middle box to get to it but trust me its there if you've been driving that car(unless you got a carburetor or he did convert it to speed density)

Ok thanks guys yeah i watched the video, and yeah now i see that my MAF is located inside the box, and right now i have a k&N air filter attached to it, i want to buy a cai which i think will be better then just my k&n right ? will i actually get a little more horsepower with it ? and what CAI should i get? also i heard that with a CAI you will get a whistle noise? and that it might change my exhaust sound?

Most CAI kits are pretty much the same so it doesn't matter what name you go with. You should get a bit of extra power. It isn't a whistle, it's more of a rushing sound of air like a carburetor makes. No it won't change your exhaust sound.

JLT is the one most folks seem to feel the best about and this is a very common question...I just picked one up myself, they will even custom paint it for you...check out their website.

I have the MAC #3495 Cold Air Kit. I see some of them on eBay for less than $200. I took advantage of the installation to put in a new 75mm MAF at the same time. You really don't have to pay $300 for a good cold air system.

They all work well. I had a BBK on my 92( basically the same engine as yours) for a while. It was nice, but no better or worse than the other brands.

The fender-well mounted kit will draw cooler air, so if you dont mind paying a little bit more, that would be better.

I bought a larger 73mm C&L MAF, and it had the tubing and filter with it, so I put it on and sold the BBK kit. No real reason, other than being picky about mixing brands.
