Alrighty, I've recently been looking into some tuning options for my 1995 cobra. I feel that it would be a good idea to get some sort of tuner before moding any further. I just read up on the tweecer r/t and am planning on looking into the anderson (I think thats what its called). Are there any others out there. Which ones are most user friendly/cost effective? I am new to tuning and don't know much about it. My mods are in my sig, let me know if you think I should continue to upgrade to a certain point or just get a tuner now. Thanks guys.

I was actually just reading from their website. Their price seems unbeatable. Will the quarterhorse be as user friendly as the tweecer r/t? I don't think I will end up with the anderson just because of the price tag that comes along with it. What other parts are necessary to buy with the quarterhorse?

This is what i've come up with so far
Moates Quarterhorse: $250
Rotary knob: $30
Premium USB 2.0 Bulkhead cable w/ bracket kit:$9
Standard USB cable:$4
2x snap on ferrite beads:$4
I got those from the parts list given on the website. The only thing I can't seem to find is the part where it says "cable mounting bracket and bolt" I can't find the bolt. Is it included with the bracket kit? Also when it says ferrite beads which ones are they talking about? Other than that is there anything else needed?

all you would need to order is the Quarterhorse and the rotary knob. everything else comes with the kit including the usb cable and the ferrite beads. Then you will need to buy EEC Editor and the EEC analyzer from the software page at the site. that is like 130 dollars. The quarterhorse will take a bit to get used to just because there is so much you can do with it. You will deff. want to join up at eectuning.org and read as much as you can about tuning and the quarterhorse. Ive got the basics down and when I do my H/C/I in a few weeks Ill have to get more in depth with it. The main feature that makes the Quarterhorse better, is that you can tune in realtime. You dont have to turn off the car, you can change something and press update on the software and it will change.

yes the WH is great you will be able to do datalogging also.this is a great help because the software EA READS DATALOG THEN HELP YOU FINE TUNE YOUR MAF. CURVE.THATS WHERE YOUR DRIVABILITY WILL BE WORKED OUT.GOOD LUCK.
ohhh alright I thought it was saying I would need to buy those things seperately. So all I need is the quarterhorse for $250, knob for $30, and sofware for $130? Sounds pretty good to me! I'm hoping to have this thing by Christmas I've got a set of Holley heads and a Typhoon intake I'm waiting to put on and I think this tuner will really wake the car up.

Hey Bud, as you know I have the 94/95 too and found through many Mustang Pros that the best thing you could do is bring it to your nearest Mustang Specialist and have them Flash the Computer and Dynotune the air/fuel.. it's totally worth the $500 they generally charge.
Will that be much better than buying my own tuner? I feel like it would be better to be able to have a number of different settings that can be accessed by the flip of the switch.

depends how often do you alter your car.I do change and like the option of trying different things and i enjoy tuning so a tuner like the QH is perfect for methen after you get it then bring it to the dyno.around here it will cost you 250$ hour dyno time.oh ya you need a wideband also.it worth learning
Tweecer or Q-horse for sure. Make sure a base tune is included so your good while you are learning. My car runs perfectly on the street. Flip the dial to my drag tune, or nitrous tune and race. Flip the switch back to street tune and drive back home.
Make some more mods next month, don't have to waste another $500 at the dyno tune shop.
