Default 1995 Mustang GT, Car sputters/ breaks down

Hey guys my 95 mustang gt will sometimes break down on me while i am driving it, i was just driving it today, and it broke down on me like here is no fuel pressure getting into it. It would just bogdown, and sputter on me and when i would try to give it gas, it would just backfire sounding like a popcorn machine kind of, and today i luckily got it to act up where i get my work done at, and he hooked it up to a fuel pressure gauge and it loses fuel pressure fast, so i am not sure on what it could be, i replaced the fuel pump in february thinking that it was the problem back then, but then it showed that it wasn't, so what else can it be controlling the fuel pressure to have intermittent problems like i am having.

I think the pump might be fine but if not then i have a 1 year warranty on it from advanced, and do you think that it could be the fan control module, which controls the fuel pump, and engine fan? this is just intermittent, which some days it is fine, and other days it is messing up on me. also the fuel filter was replaced back in march because i also thought that it could be my problem to.

Ignition module. I would start by replacing it since it controls the power to the fuel pump. If you have a ignition module going out it will cause this problem.

I fully agree!!!!! My 1994 Cobra was doing the same thing that you are describing with your car and i replaced my ignition control module and it fixed my particular problem.

If you do replace the module make sure to put di-electric grease on the back of it to keep it cool and working properly

Yeah its underneath the air intake system. It has one plug connected to it and two small bolts holding it to a finned type bracket which it to help keep it cool. If it was replaced do you know if there is di-electric grease on the back? My friend learned that the hard way on his stang

Oh. Well that might be worth looking at. My buddy replaced his module and didnt put and grease on the back of it and it ending up freaking out like it was bad cuz the module was overheating without the grease on back of it.

ok where can i get that grease at? and also i am not sure that migh be my issue though, but it does happen when my car gets hot, so that is why i am thinking it is the fan control module that controls the fuel pump also and the a/c

You can get the grease at any auto parts store. All of them should carry it. And if they dont carry it i would stop going there. lol. It only costs a couple of bucks.

Im not positive if that will fix your problem or not but from your description thats the same thing that happened to my car. and this is what fixed it for me. I never had my fuel pressure checked though so im not sure if our problems are the exact same. but its a cheap and easy place to start

On the bottom side. The bottom will be the shiny metal side and it will be the side that toughes that finned cooling device it is bolted to

I had a problem like this with my car with mine it would die just driving down the road after it warmed up. The problem was the module in the distributor. I replaced the whole thing with a MSD distributor and haven't had a problem since.
