Default 1995 Mustang GT, Questions on rev limit and exhaust

I have a 347 in my 95 gt and would like to know if anyone else has run into this my car acts like it has a rev limit at around 6k. now i have seen heated discussions on here and people swearing up and down that there is no rev limit until fuel cutoff at 7k but this has been an issue with different engine setups and acts the same no matter what. right now i have afr 185s, comp 274hr cam with matching valve springs, crane hi6 ignition, bbk headers etc. again the car has tons of power right to 6k and it feels like it is still gaining power. I would think these heads flow more than enough to turn more than 6k the cam and springs should be good i am not getting any valve float, if anyone has any ideas i would love to hear them.
Also I am wondering what kind of mufflers would be quiet while producing good power i have been leaning towards the hooker aero chambers i have a catted x pipe but it is still very loud mostly below 2500 which isnt great in town thanks for your help

that cam is design with a powerband up to 6200

combine that with ported stock parts

yes gt40's are stock parts....

sound like the car is performing well ......

it is a possibillity you maybe having a ignition problem or the heads and intake are at their performance limit.....

with my ported explorer intake and ported stock heads i pull hard to 6k then hit a wall.

i think it is just the limit of what they will flow.

What about the fuel system? Have you upgraded that? The mass air/injectors or pump might be maxed out, have you dyno'd the car, do you have a A/F meter? Do you have a tuner you can call on? Best to get some science rather than relying on magic at this point...

ignition has a built in limiter but is set well above where it is cutting out i have it set at 7500. fuel system is a 255 pump with 30lb inj and maf. only have the gt 40 intake heads are afr 185. i can see the intake holding it back but not hitting a wall like this just wondering if the stock ecm has a built in limit. i know that i need to get it dyno tuned as well but have not been able to do so yet

the intake is the weak link in your combo.....

get a better intake and you will be surprise at what power has been hiding.....

having the car dyno'd is a must ......

Default rev limit

on my setup..read my signature..i pull 6600 and it starts to gradually start loosing power..before my 6al i could pull it to about 6100 and it was still pulling but it would start cutting out..added 6al and i have pulled 6700 and it started flat lining..so i backed it down to 6500 and its pulling pretty good..dyned mine and pulled to 6600 and hit my max power at 6500 and did 441..thats my deal with my car..everyones is diff.. stock setup is set to cut out at 5900 or so..its all the stock setup will do..add parts and it will raise ur limit due to better flow and then you reach your fuel pump limit..upgrade that and it will pull more..gl

If you have stock tune thats your problem i think.since i have datalog the fact tune it easy to see thing stock looking to make power after 5800.for some reason the fox computer will make power till 6800 easy with aftermarket ign.I was thinking of putting a fox computer just because there stock tune is easy to alter.plus its a better tune
