Default MAF Meter and Throttle Body Recommendations

I have a question about the size of the mass air meter and throttle body. I plan on a rebuild in the future. My configuration will be the following:

AFR Heads (165cc)
Steeda #19 Camshaft
94-95 Cobra Upper and Lower Intake
1.6 Rockers
1 5/8” Shorty Headers
Bassani X-Pipe with Cats
Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-Back
Will keep 19lb injectors (if possible)

Will the stock mass air meter and throttle body suffice with these modifications?

Secondly, the Cobra Intake has a 70mm intake opening and if I were to port match it with a 70mm throttle body and mass air meter would I run into lean conditions since I still have 19lb injectors and stock fuel pump? Thanks to all for your help and information. I am really doing my homework before getting this all together.

Thanks,
dcs7941

I would also upgrade the fuel pump to a 255lph if you can. Also, with all those mods a stock MAF and TB would be crazy in my opinion. I'd go with a 70mm TB and maybe a 76mm or bigger MAF calibrated for 24#... then look into an adjustable fuel regulator.

Instead of the cobra intake I'd go with the trickflow street or heat intake. The TB opening is already 70mm and it flows much better than the cobra. But if you get that intake you have to get the intake adapter that will allow you to use it on a 94-95 Stang. Thats already 70mm so you'd have a nice consistancy of sizes.

Hopes this helps,

Steve

Steve,

Thanks for the information. I will stick with the Cobra Intake because I want to keep the stock hood. I just had my 95 painted and don't want to spend money on a new hood and more paint. If I make these changes, will the computer manage the new mods?

Thanks,
dcs7941

Well if you already have a cobra intake I'd stick with it but if not go with trick flow, with that intake you won't need a bigger hood.

As for the computer you might consider getting a custom burned diablo chip. Our computers aren't the most tolerable when it comes to mods.

Be sure to wait and see what other people think before you base any decisions off what I say

the hood will work fine no matter what intake. i have the edelbrock victor and i still run the stock hood just had to change the strut tower brace. stay away from the tf track heat its for the track and makes horsepower way out of the range you will be operating at but thats just my two cents.
