Any Suggestions? 1995 Mustang-Oil gauge not working.

I'm new to the mustang family.
I just purchased a 1995 mustang convertible as a project car and it has some small problems. My oil gauge is not working, but I'm getting oil pressure just fine.

What did you do to verify pressure, which would be super important to have?
Could be the sending unit or a bad gauge or wiring problem. The gauge is a dummy gauge anyways.

I had my mechanic take a look I was getting a tune up and an oil change when we discovered this.
I even got a new sending unit. I don't know what to do next.

This seams like a very popular thing with these cars. I replaced the pump and the sending unit and my gauge still acts retarded. I think it's in the wiring on my car. Like previously said it is just a 6 psi warning light. If above 6 the gauge reads normal if below 6 the gauge will drop off.

After many woes with my oiling system, I invested in a good quality mechanical gauge.

Get a good mechanical gauge hooked up so you can get a definitive reading. Then we can go from there. Like everyone else said, the stock gauges are notorious for giving false readings, so it could be (hopefully) a problem with the gauge itself or somewhere in the wiring.
An aftermarket mechanical gauge will give you a for sure reading.

I have a '94 with an erratic gauge. Most of the time it reads at the low end of the normal range, and periodically will begin dropping to the red once a second when I stop at a light. If I shift to neutral or start out, it returns to normal. Where is the sender located? Thanks.
