Default 1995 mustang obd 1 codes 181 and 189 codes

My car is a 95 GT with about 186k on it. Check engine light has been coming on. It sometimes comes on at light throttle at about 3k rpm and then goes out after shifting. I finally got a code reader. The OBD 1 codes 181 and 189 came up in the scan. The KOER tests all pass. I know these codes mean that the computer has reached the control limit on enrichining the mixture and reports that the system is lean (both banks). Don't want to just start replacing parts. I am guessing that its possible the MAF sensor since otherwise the engine runs good. Anyone have this same problem and what did you to fix it?
Thanks,
Phil

You may want to (if you haven't yet) clean the MAF elements with contact or carburetor cleaner. After which, you may want to check fuel pressure engine idling and while the engine is under partial load conditions.

If you have access to a scanner capable of monitoring system PID's using the datastream option, it would be helpful to check the short and long term STFT and LTFT values while the car is under partial load. LUK
