Default Finally Started

started the stang last nite and was amazed. for those of you that dont know i was the one that decided to build the winsdor (393) and last night was the test fire. only cost me a hundred dollars lol. the headers turned cherry red after about 5min of running and totally melted the clutch cable the was touching them (damnit) long tubes from cooks. two msd wires that were close got so hot that it melted the gray insulator boots and now you can see the arcing between the pipes and the plug wires.( hope that i can buy two of them seperate and not another whole set). dont know if they were suppose to get that hot but i shut it down. waited for a few minutes checking the temp and all was good. so i started it back up and they had a real light glow on the right and the left was looking okay. the motor never went past halfway on the gauge so i hope that i didnt mess the heads up. two lifters on the driver side sound like they havent fully pumped up but the gauge is reading about normal so im going to finish hooking up everything the way that it should be. but whats funny is that it doesnt run bad and by that i mean idles decently, responsive when you give it gas even though i have a 3 grand chip in the msd since i dont want to mess up a new motor. but i thought with all the changes the comp would be crazy and have no running capabilities at all. everything has been changed and the stock comp let the car run pretty civilized last nite. 393, 30lb injectors, 75 mm throttle body, 80mm mass air flow, 205 heads, 11.4 to 1 comp, billet fuel rails 215 fuel pump and the comp has the car idling pretty smooth at 10deg initial timing. since all is running well ill let it run about 15 mins today and change the oil finish up all the small stuff and take it to the alignment shop to see just how good the comp is under normal driving. hopefully all goes well i can get to the dyno in about two weeks take the chip out and let's see what this thing is good for cant wait to really turn this thing loose it just sounds so awesome happy thanksgiving all
